We are excited to invite Alana Allen to the Nonprofit Sistas podcast. In this episode, we will talk about giving gifts to build relationships with your audience.
Moving Forward From Hardships
At the tender age of 6 years old, Alana experienced a sexual trauma that she held on to for years. This caused emotional, mental, and spiritual turmoil. Tired of feeling alone and navigating the hardships of the trauma, Alana dived deeper into her spiritual journey.
She prayed about forgiving that individual who violated her that she could move forward and become a positive leader in her community. Alana desired to empower young girls and women, to help them view themselves as Queens.
For 15 years, Alana set out to develop an annual mentoring program for girls between 10 to 18 years old. The program, in mind, was set to focus on building the self-esteem and leadership skills of participants. In addition, Alana encourages girls and others to give back by participating in various charitable deeds.
